Story of an Artist

Elizabeth Wallace Reid (nee McFarlane) was born in Glasgow, Scotland and immigrated to Canada at the tender age of five years. Even at such a young age, Elizabeth had a passion for design, color and beauty. Her Aunts in Scotland would send her royalty magazines and she would spend hours sketching beautiful dresses.

As she grew, her spare moments were filled with discovering new art forms and experimenting with various mediums. Although a busy registered nurse, farm wife and mother of three, her passion for art persisted and continued to grow.

Elizabeth loves to work with acrylics, oils, watercolors, chalk and oil pastels, inks, and digital mediums. Her pieces entitled "Petal Pretties", are a combination of flower petals and watercolors and are collected internationally.

Most Recently, Elizabeth has started creating Monoprints, both botanical and abstract, using materials from her own garden. Her Studio, aptly named "Glasgow Bird Studio", houses her large body of work and highlights her imagination, creativity and love of design.

Elizabeth hopes to have many more years to truly embrace her art and share it with people who also have an appreciation for the beauty around us!
