Story of an Artist

Elizabeth Wallace Reid was born in Glasgow, Scotland and immigrated to Canada at the tender age of five years.  Even at such a young age, Elizabeth had a passion for design, color and beauty.  Her Aunts in Scotland would send her Royalty Magazines and she would spend hours sketching beautiful dresses.

As she grew, Elizabeth continued to have a passion for art and design and used much of her spare time to discover new art forms and experimented with many different mediums.  She spent many hours working with oils, acrylics, water colors, ink and pastels.  Her works with flower petals, “Petal Pretties”, used a combination of flower petals and watercolors to create beautiful Victorian women and scenes and were collected by people internationally.  In these pieces, Elizabeth was truly able to combine her love of gardening with her love for design.

Now retired from nursing, and her children grown, Elizabeth has been able to truly chase her love for all things beautiful and artistic.  She is not only able to spend time gardening, working with photography and painting, but has also truly fallen in love with and embraced digital art.  Her eye for color and movement, that is so apparent in all of her art, has now come to life in these detailed digital pieces.

These digital abstracts are full of emotion and capture the beauty of color, contrast, movement and design.  At any given time of the day, Elizabeth will be deeply involved with working on her digital pieces and refines them for hours until she is satisfied with each piece.

Elizabeth hopes to have many more years to truly embrace her art and share it with people who also have an appreciation for the beauty around us!
